Iga Swiatek, 21 years old, is the #1 female tennis player. She is a HAPPY 3 Time Grand Slam Champion who, by redefining her Z, has overcome the mental stress that success and the expectation of perfection brings.

2 Tennis #1 Champions: Iga Swiatek (Current #1, Oct 2022), Ashley Barty (Retired as #1, March 2022)

She was #2 when Ash Barty, then the #1 player in the world suddenly announced her retirement March 2022.

What did Iga do with her unexpected ascendancy to the top of the game? She proved critics and naysayers wrong and showed that she deserved the throne. Leveraging her innate talent (she won the juniors edition of Wimbledon at age 17), Iga dominated the game by winning 37 straight matches, the longest winning streak in the 21st century.

Then to everyone’s surprise, Iga lost 4 of her next 8 matches – to lower ranked opponents she would have beaten 9 times out of 10. She succumbed to the pressure from herself and from the public. Iga said she overanalyzed it.

But demonstrating her new definition of perfection, her new Z, she won 7 straight matches again to win her 3rd Grand Slam title, the US Open.

After winning another championship, the San Diego Open in October, Iga said:

The Goal is NOT playing or feeling PERFECTLY, but winning when you’re not feeling perfect, or winning when you’re not comfortable on court and you can’t play with your intution. – Iga Swiatek

Translated to the ZYX champions mindset

Z (Outcome Desired)= Being happy even when life is imperfect, even when losses should not have happened

Y (Reason/s why Z is non-negotiable) = Because Life is Unfair, Imperfect and Unpredictable even if you give your very BEST every time

X (How) = Accept what you have, adjust to the conditions and to your opponent. Go with the flow Redefine your happiness amidst your seeming imperfection.
