A video is the current standard for student reporting: a timed, rehearsed, cloud-based, uploaded YouTube video on the assigned topic. This is superior to actual student reporting in a classroom while the rest of the class listens synchronously. The advantages are (1) asynchronous characteristic allows the learner the option as to when and where to learn (2) allows the assigned student to rehearse and submit only the best output (3) independence of the quality and availability of internet connection (as compared to a synchronous on-line class) (4) allows the entire class (professor and learners) to get the best from the entire class (5) ensures the time constraint is followed (6) allows learning and reference to the material even after the course ends.
