Imagine your favorite sport and its star player. For tennis, Federer, Nadal or Djokovic. For basketball, Steph Curry or Michael Jordan. For marathons, Eliud Kipchoge.
Die hard sports fan dream of becoming like their idols. Some start young and achieve some success. But when they realize that
Federer practices 6 hours a day, every day and yet he loses around 15 times a year.
Steph Curry takes 500 practice shots every day from the 3 point line so that he can perform during real games
Eliud runs 100 miles a week for 48 weeks a year to win a 26 mile marathon 3 times a year.
… then people shy away from the work needed. They find that the price they have to pay is too high to get their dream of becoming good at their favorite sport. Then they settle to becoming fans instead of being good players.
Similarly, a lot of people say they want to learn digital marketing. But when given a chance to learn this well and free but which requires time and effort, then they give up on the dream. And they have plenty of reasons that they give- lack of time, poor professor, bad learning materials, etc.
