The International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved a change in the Olympic motto that recognises the unifying power of sport and the importance of solidarity. “Together” was added. The new Olympic motto now reads: “Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together”.
IOC, July 20,2021
During this 2nd year of the pandemic, we all continue to fight our own battles every day.
While face to face classes can never be fully surpassed by virtual sessions, in some aspects, it has and it will continue.
v78 was the last pre-pandemic marketing class that I was privileged to coach at Central Luzon Doctors Hospital in Tarlac. We learned, laughed, and bonded for 7 Saturday nights from Jan to March 2020. I drove 3 hours to get to the classroom, did a 6 hour coaching, eating, sharing and photo session before driving back for another 3 hours.
And for some strange reason (Di Na Natuto), the class wanted more. And so v78 also petitioned for an elective and became v85.5 Marketing Digitally MBA Health Class. What could have been just a walk in the park as an elective, turned out to be a marathon- sprint of passionate learning and real hard work, even when no one was looking
The result? We healed as One over 8 Sabado nights! We truly earned Olympic gold (in our hearts and in our wordpress blogs) transforming from outsiders to digital creators. And honestly, the BEST EVER class pre-pandemic was able to successfully win the gold again and re-claim the BEST EVER class title!
“Citius, Altius, Fortius – Communiter” (Latin)
“Plus vite, Plus haut, Plus fort – Ensemble” (French)
The awesome Olympic gold video was created by Dr. Mary Claire Vega-Soliman and Dr. Tanya Tysman for what what should have been just a simple photo requirement of the class. Wow! Take a bow while they play our anthem: Dr. Celeste Mae Belmone, Dr. Ryan Bonifacio, Dr. Yamami Chan, Dr. Lilia Chua, Dr. Sheila Demecillo, Dr. Ma. Theresa Enrile, Dr. Mar-Jay Gulapa, RN Rey Nardo, Dr. Cristina Pascual, Dr. Richard Pascual, Dr. Shalee Santos, Dr. Jason Tan and Dr. Jaynet Tan. Special thanks to v85.5 Primus Dr. Antonita De Pano and v78 Primus Dr. Godofredo Dungca III. We are still one with you v78 Benedicto Cid and Shannon Manalang. This is MBA Health Central Luzon Doctors Hospital – celebrating Digital gold as they move to Strama.
Will this class always be the BEST EVER?
Hopefully not! Because all students, including the current record holders v85.5 Primus class, have a true community Olympic and Jesuit spirit- wishing that the next one will be “Faster, Higher, Stronger- TOGETHER.”
